Technical pieces of Workday, done without the firm.
Seekers LLC is the independent practice of Colin Frederickson, a Workday Technical consultant with eleven years of enterprise HRIS migrations: data conversion, integrations, and reporting across HCM, Benefits, Payroll, and Financials. Direct engagement, no layers, no handoffs.
Build it right. Or find out why it went wrong.
Data conversion
End-to-end conversion across HCM, Benefits, Payroll, and Financials from ten-plus legacy platforms. Effective-dated logic, dual employment, cross-entity employees, YTD balances, and FDM crosswalks. Warehouse intermediary architecture for complex multi-source migrations. EIB and LoadAPI delivery with full reconciliation reporting.
Integration architecture
Inventory, scope, and design of inbound and outbound integrations across HCM, Benefits, Payroll, and Financials. Tool selection across EIB, Core Connectors, and Studio. Data flow design, vendor handoffs, and integration specs that hand cleanly to a build team.
Reporting architecture
Reporting and dashboard strategy across HCM, Benefits, Payroll, and Financials. Tool selection across calculated fields, matrix reports, BIRT, and Workday Prism. Audit, reconciliation, and dashboard frameworks scoped, designed, and managed to delivery.
Independent review
Third-party assessment of in-flight Workday implementations: stalled conversions, missed payroll parallel accuracy, mid-project architectural pivots. Root-cause analysis, remediation roadmaps, revised timeline scenarios, and board-ready executive summaries. Independent voice alongside or within SI-led programs.
Recent and current client work.
Academic medical center, multi-population conversion
Lead data conversion across HCM, Benefits, Payroll, and Grants for a Fortune 500 academic medical system. Brought multiple legacy populations to a unified Workday state: supervisory org alignment, comp effective dating, and dual employment remapping across pipelines. Rebuilt the end-to-end conversion process to incorporate secure, thoughtful use of AI.
Independent diagnostic, academic / multi-entity healthcare system
Independent review of in-flight Workday ERP implementation following missed payroll parallel accuracy and a mid-project data warehouse pivot. Delivered remediation roadmap, revised timeline scenarios, and board-ready executive summary. Multi-entity scope across hospital, medical group, and ASCs with conversion sourcing from ADP, BambooHR, and Paycom.
Specialty healthcare, multi-entity supply chain conversion
Workday SCM and Financials conversion for a regional orthopedic specialty group spanning three operating companies and five inventory populations. Built a Python framework that consolidates legacy item, supplier, and stocking-location data into a single de-duplicated item master, with cluster-duplicated PAR locations, dynamic location config, and Patient Charge Information generation.
Workday Phase X, multi-country HCM conversion
Workday Phase X HCM conversion bringing the Uruguay and Ecuador populations of a multinational telecom operator onto an existing tenant. Came on with benefits data more than two weeks behind and automated the path from source file to Workday EIB, removing the manual rework and closing the schedule gap. Built translation into the pipeline to handle Spanish-language headers and field values. The benefits automation grew into a reusable pipeline that replaced copy-and-paste EIB prep across other HCM areas.
Workday Financials implementation, supplier workstream
Supplier data conversion across NetSuite, PayMode, and Concur for a national insurance brokerage. Python framework for cost-center mapping, bank validation, and duplicate review.
Multi-population HCM conversion & integration inventory
Data conversion across legacy and new entity populations for a major family entertainment group. Integration inventory management and contingent worker conversion strategy.
UKG to Workday migration, governance lead
Data governance framework for a national asset manager's UKG-to-Workday migration. Delivered a tenant-wide gap analysis with a recommendation and implementation handling guide for every gap, plus field-level mapping across payment elections, tax elections, and service dates.
Build it once, properly.
The work is straightforward in theory and unforgiving in practice. Conversions live or die by what's in the source. Integrations succeed or fail in the white space between systems. Reports earn their keep in the audit. The hard part of Workday isn't the configuration. It's the legacy fields no one remembers being added, the effective-dated quirks, and the cross-functional touchpoints that nobody else sees.
Seekers brings a build-it-properly-once sensibility. Standardized extracts, transformations under version control, baseline snapshots and diff queries for testing. Architecture decisions captured in writing (what tool, what flow, what handoff) so build teams don't have to guess. AI used thoughtfully and securely to compress the boring parts and free time for the parts that need judgment.
Engagements run direct with the client. No staffing pyramid, no handoff between sales and delivery, no surprises in the second invoice. On diagnostic work, Seekers operates as the independent voice within or alongside SI-led programs.
