Healthcare · Workday supply chain
Workday SCM conversion across 10 facilities.
A conversion framework reconciled item, supplier, and location data and generated Workday Advanced Load and EIB files. This made the work achievable across 10 healthcare facilities within the project timeline.

What the project needed
The scope covered 10 facilities, with item, supplier, and stocking-location data coming from multiple sources. The data needed to form a consistent item master while preserving the location requirements for each facility. Duplicate items, conflicting source values, pack sizes, and units of measure all had to be worked through.
How the data was prepared
A Python framework consolidated the source files, resolved duplicates, and applied the mapping and business logic needed for the item master. That included source priority, pack sizes, units of measure, and supplier and manufacturer references.
From that reconciled data, the tooling generated Purchase Item Advanced Load files and EIB data for PAR locations and Patient Charge Information. Reconciliation and location coverage checks helped the team identify gaps in the prepared files.
-
Consolidate source files
Bring together the item, supplier, and location data from the facilities.
-
Reconcile the item master
Apply source priorities and work through duplicates, pack sizes, and units of measure.
-
Map facility locations
Apply the location assignments and check for gaps in coverage.
-
Generate Workday files
Prepare Purchase Item Advanced Load and PAR Location / Patient Charge EIB data.
Source priorities and location rules carry through each step.
What it meant for the project
Automating data preparation reduced the manual effort enough to complete the conversion work across all 10 facilities within the project timeline. The work would not have been achievable in that window using the manual process.
